((Frostdew's the one talking, but she's behind TumbleHeart.))

"Tough decision, eh, TumbleHeart?" A wheezing voice rasped.

Tumbleheart nodded. "Yeah.." And then spun around. "Oh, its just you.." Tumbleheart sighed.

"Yes. Just the deputy...." Frostdew's voice trailed off, lost in memories. It was very late. Suddenly, the young cat's knees started to tremble. Frostdew collapsed.

" Frostdew!" Tumbleheart exclaimed, and rushed over. "Are you alright?" She was at Frostdew's side.

SnowStar gasped. "No. No!" SnowStar stared in horror at her own niece, collapsed on the ground. (Frostdew is Snowstar's niece.) "It's happening." (Can the sun start to rise?)

(( Sure.))

Tumbleheart gasped, and barely noticed the blood red and orange of the sun starting to rise. "Frostdew! Frostdew! Say something!" Tumbleheart begged.

"Tumbleheart. You are the first light gray cat we've seen for awhile. You have a tough decision to make. BUt remember-believe. I-will-always..." Frostdew wheezed a heavy rasp. "...watch-over you..." Then she looked at Snowstar. "I love you. Tell mom I love her. Goodbye..."

"No!" SnowStar sobbed."No." Frostdew was dead. Then she turned to TumbleHeart. "TumbleHeart, I have watched you, and I ask if YOU want to become deputy. It's your choice."

" I-I.." Tumbleheart's voice faltered. Was she to stay a warrior and be deputy, and go and train Waterkit? Or become a medicine cat apprentice, if the medicine cat agreed.. She looked at Waterkit, and Snowstar.

Streampelt had just padded out of her den, and was also watching Tumbleheart.

Snowstar laughed bitterly. "Frostdew told you you had a tough choice coming ahead."

Waterkit looked up at Tumbleheart.

" I.." Tumbleheart paused. "I'm sorry, but I can't.." Tumbleheart didn't dare look at Waterkit, who was bound to be furious, or sad.

Javasheen ran out of the warrior's den "What happened!" She yelled.

Tumbleheart looked away from Snowstar and Waterkit and looked to Javasheen. "Frostdew.."

((Well, actually, I had a plan about that. You see, Javasheen is Tumbleheart's...replacement. If she becmoes medi-cat, Javasheen's deputy. IF she becomes deputy, Javasheen's medi-cat. (You know, one reason I had Frostdew die is because I'm trying to eliminate some characters.) ))
Waterkit looked at Javasheen a bit annoyed at her for disturbing this sacred moment.

( Tumbleheart is gonna be medi. cat. =) ))

Tumbleheart looked at the medicine cat,.

Javasheen smiled at Waterkit then glanced fearfully at Frostdew.

TUmbleheart felt a pang of somethign when Javasheen and Waterkit loked at each other. Was it.. Jealousy?

"Please don't do this, Tumbleheart." Waterkit whispered.

Streampelt made a very important decision. She would accept the light gray cat if Tumbleheart decided it, but she would leave the clan once Tumbleheart knew everything she needed to know. IT was too much.She was soooo old, and she couldn't become a elder. She knew she had to leave the clan after. No one would miss her. She had no family.

Snowstar shook her head. "Your choice..."

Tumbleheart blinked away tears, and turned top the medicine cat.

Javasheen glanced at Snowstar then Streampelt then Tumbleheart then Waterkit then at her paws did that again then dashed toward the warrior's den knocking down the nursury in the process sobs muffling her wails of sorrow.

Waterkit looked sorrowfully at TUmbleheart. "Then I must go." she said.

Snowstar wished she could stop her, but she knew she couldn't. Streampelt had told her she would come back someday.

Waterkit knew everyone was in camp. She let out aloud sorrowful goodbye and then turned to Snowstar. "Thank you." she said. Then she turned to Tumbleheart. "Tell Streampool thank you. Tell her that I love her, for me, ok?" she said. Then her tone turned more serious. "Thank you." she whispered. Then she raced into the forest.

Tumbleheart looked at Waterkit and nodded slowly, and a single tear fell down her cheek. Tumbleheart bounded away into the empty warrior den, she wanted to be alone.

Waterkit didn't stop until she was out of the territory-not in any other clan territory there might be either. She was in a forest, but not the same. she had passed a meadow, and then a ridge of rocks-a wall. Then a forest. (The rocks are hills, created by a rippling in the surface of the earth. Yes, they are hills, but mostly rock. IT's starting to turn to soil, which in turn will lead to grass.) In the forest she would live.

Tumbleheart looked at the ceiling of the den. Waterkit ran away, all because of her.

Waterkit decided that since she was no longer a clan member, at least for now, she couldn't have a clan name. She trotted up to a huge tree, growing in front of a cave a completly covering the entrance, and she quickly scrawled Waterkit on it, to remember her clan life. Then in large letters, she wrote: Winter's Territory. She had decided she would call herself Winter, the loner. SHe set to work. on the side of the cave was a rock slab that was loose, She pried it a little this way and that, and it was a door. She grabbed up some bush seeds and planted them around the closed rock-door. Then she pulled up grass and leaves to conceal it. She was deep enough in the forest that no one could see her, but she could see them and hide. (Just in case Waterclan tries to find her.) Inside the cave, there was, conviently, a nice soft patch of moss growing, with a couple bushes. The perfect place.

Snowstar sat in her den. Yes, she knew who was the deputy now.
