Re: Elemental RPG

Post  [F]irekit on Sat Feb 28, 2009 7:01 pm

Euphoria saw the other two change into their human forms, but he stayed in his draconic one. Why change when he felt more comfortable as a dragon? He saw Morlanc waiting outside the tree, so he walked a little faster, and stepped into his tree. When in, he invited them with a sweep of his tail to sit or stand where ever they pleased. Settling himself comfortably in a slight dip of the wall of the house, he kept his eyes on the snow falling outside, he said, addressing both of them, “What brings you round these parts? It's not often I see another animal, let alone two elementals."

Waiting for the other two to answer could be a long process, so, in contradiction to what he had thought about changing into his human form, he stepped outside and quickly changed. Then, shaking the snow off his bare feet, he picked some up, brought it inside, and from the shelf above his head, brought out some tea leaves. “Anyone feel like warming up slightly?”
Not waiting for an answer, he produced three cups, and over one, focusing hard, shot a lightning bolt out of his left hand. He used it to melt the snow, and then divided the now hot water equally between the three cups. After he had finished he offered them to the other two, before taking his own.

Wrapping his cloak around him, he sat opposite the other two, letting them take in his appearance, before looking at them expectantly, still waiting for an answer to his first question. Unaware, his eyes had been showing his inner emotions, whether Belle and Morlanc could read his eyes like few could, well that was a different matter. Inside, he was a mess. Anger, surprise, happiness, confusion, and what of Belle? Even he himself did not understand what was...Different about her. Sure, she was an elemental, but that didn't make her any different to himself or Morlanc...Things to worry about later he said to himself, fiercely, not letting himself go any further. Letting his his eyes wander, they landed on Morlanc. "May I ask what exactly a plant elemental does?
Morlanc seemed to be more withdrawn than most, and she was definitely going to be a little bit more difficult than Belle to get talking.

Why thankyou :)

Following the pair inside, Morlanc settled herself closest to the entrance, despite the cold wind that passed so close. People made her nervous. She turned her gaze from the snow to Euphoria, as he spoke of their reason for being here. What was hers? Well, this was a large forest and in the center was a great, clear lake. It was a favourite spot of hers and she often visite. It was a perfect haven for her. Opening her mouth to speak, she closed it shut as the wind/lightning elemental went outside. Eyes narrowing a little in annoyance, she turned her gaze to Belle. Why was she here, or Euphoria? Morly was curious, but she would wait and see.

Looking up as Eu returned, the elemental watched him in silence for a moment, accepting the cup of tea with a raised eyebrow. Didn't anyone ever drink plain water around here? Well, she couldn't turn it down since that would be impolite, so she simply sat there and held the cup between her cloak-covered hands. Already uncomfortable, she turned her teal-eyed gaze back out towards the snow, watching it come down in flurries of white. Well, her lake would be iced over tomorrow, that was for sure. She'd have to break through it again, so that she could reach to it's depths and the animals around here could drink their fill. It was funny though, come to think of it, how Ice and Water were deemed seperate elements. Morly had often wondered what it would be like to stretch that bit further and control her elements solid form. On top of this, she'd also wondered what the ice elemental would be like. Surely they'd have some sort of similarities? Kinship.

As Euphoria directed a question solely at her and appeared to be in no hurry to move this time, Morly raised her guarded gaze to his and contemplated his question. It was obvious to her but how to explain it? Speaking softly, but not so quiet as to be hard to hear, she gave as best an answer as she could. "Well... I am as much a part of plants and trees as they are of me. I care for them, I can make them grow or fall, live or die, bloom or remain barren. I can command their living cells and tissues." Hoping that was explanation enough, she dropped her gaze to her mug and began to work her elemental gift. She seperated the water in the mug from the tea and tea leaves, hoping he wouldn't notice. She would wait until they were both looking away before dumping them somewhere. As for now, she decided to answer the first question as well. "As for why I am here, this forest and its' lake are a favourite place of mine. There, now you two can do all the talking. " She gave a quick smile as she finished her sentence, her gaze flickering from Euphoria, to Belle and then back to her cup of snow-tea.

Noticing Morly wasn’t drinking her tea, he held out his hand for the cup. “Fair enough. Well I roamed the forest as a nomad for many years, but a little while ago, I decided to settle here, away from prying eyes. It’s also perfect for me to practice my power of my elements, without hurting anyone. As for practicing using lightning, I only do it in winter, in the snow.” Getting slightly sick of the wind, he moved slightly past Morlanc, and pointed his finger outside. Immediately the wind died down to the slightest whisper, strong enough only to rustle the leaves of the plants and tree around his home. Moving back away from the door, he began speaking again. "I did not know there was a lake in these woods, for though I lived a moving life, I never strayed too far to the centre." Then, thinking that might sound a bit strange, "I like my peace and quiet."

Realising he was still holding the two cups, he put them on the floor beside him, before sitting down again. Trying to make her feel welcome, "Where did you move from?" Realising that it was almost hopeless, and that Belle would probably not be replying for a while, he tried a different tactic. "Fancy going for a fly? Then you can show me this lake that is so dear to you."

Belle looked up. "I'm here.. I just travel alot to put it in simpler words." Belle said, taking a small sip of her tea.
Her brown and red, curly hair cascaded half way down her back, and she took another sip. "I'll go on a fly with you, if thats ok?" Belle said, wanting to be in the conversation. Why did Eu keep looking at her in that why, was she doing something wrong?
She became the slightest self-consious.

Belle waited for Morly's reply, and finished that last of her tea.

Well, um

Post  Deadhold on Mon Mar 02, 2009 9:10 am

You shouldn't get impatient since I'm not psychic and don't know that you've edited the post until you tell me Smile

Also, I had more in mind that the elementals have existed for a long time, with no particular age and they also generally don't interact with humans in such a way as going to school and such. They can and do live among people, but they keep more to themselves so they can keep their powers secret. Levitation is also something that they can do in their dragonform to aid flying, but not in their human form, apart from wind. It's not an ice power.

Other than that, great :p

Joining you

Post  Deadhold on Mon Mar 02, 2009 10:08 am

With a soft sigh, Morly handed Eu her cup and stood, stretching her cramped legs. She nodded in answer, glad of the excuse to get a few extra feet away from the two others. First out of the tree, being closest to the entrance, she yawned and stretched, before fading smoothly into her dragonform. Once she was finished, she smiled softly and waited for the other two.

Morlanc always felt more at home in her dragonform, enjoying the feel of the wind rushing through her mane and the ground brushing past her clawed feet. Best of all though, she loved to take a long dive into the lake, letting the water slide off of her fur, moving her powerful form easily through it. She liked to become one with the water and be pulled by its' currents, to follow the flow and doze near the bottom.

Shaking the gathering snow off of her body, she took to the air, folding her limbs underneath her and rising into the sky. Knowing that the other two were likely to be following, she began to soar, weaving in and out of the thick trees, revelling in the feel of their trunks as she passed within mm of them.

After a while of flying, 10 or so minutes, her keen eyes caught the glint of water in the distance, and she felt its' presence nearby. Taking a look over her shoulder to make sure the others were still following, she dropped down and landed on the ground, travelling the last short distance on foot. She reached the banks of the lake and waited, looking out over the surface with a smile on her draconic mouth. The lake was large and clean, filled with vibrant fish and plant life. Even in the blizzard, with its' surface beginning to film over with ice, it was a beautiful sight.

Belle followed after Morly, changing into her dragonform after she was out the door. The white on her glinted in the snow, and she unfolded her wings.
She took off, right after Morly, and smiled to herself. She loved being in her dragonform, felt more comfortable in it, you could say. She shook her mane free of the snow flakes, and landed smoothly after Morly.
She followed in walking the short distance to the lake, and even though she was fire and didn't like water and that kinda thing much, she had to admit the lake was a really pretty sight.

Eu came out last, and, following the others, changed into his dragon form outside. He immediately took off, revelling in the feel of the wind underneath his wings. Instead of landing like the others, he carried on gliding. He flew low across the lake, taking in it's beauty, before flying straight back up again. When he finally landed next to the others, he was breathless and in a desperately happy mood. Realising he might have come across as quite rude, he said "I'm sorry, I just haven't done that in a while. Your lake certainly is beautiful."

I sent a pm to Icepaw about it. As for more elements, there are none that I can think of. Suggest some? I'm not sure how Clouds is an element though....?
